In short
- No account to create.
- The details you enter to build your protocol (flights, chronotype, purpose of your trip) are processed on your phone. EOLE does not store them on its servers.
- We measure how the website and the app are used with PostHog, on a pseudonymous basis, only to improve the service.
- The website does not use cookies.
- We never sell your data and do not run targeted advertising.
1. Who is responsible for your data?
EOLE, a French simplified joint-stock company (SAS) with a share capital of 20 000 €, registered in Paris under no. 928 324 987, with its registered office at 8 rue Tardieu, 75018 Paris, France (“EOLE”, “we”), is the data controller for personal data collected through:
- the eolejetlag.com website (the “Website”);
- the EOLE – Jet Lag Reset mobile app for iOS and Android (the “App”).
For any question about your data: contact@eoleapp.com.
2. Data processed in the App
2.1 Your protocol details
To calculate your protocol, the App asks for details about your flight (cities or airports, dates and times), your answers to the chronotype questionnaire, the purpose of your trip and some preferences (for example, whether you want guidance on melatonin).
These details are processed only on your device, to generate your protocol and schedule its reminders. They are not sent to EOLE and are not stored on our servers. Some of them relate to your sleep, which is one of the reasons we chose to keep them on your phone. You can erase them at any time by deleting your protocol or the App.
2.2 Usage statistics
To understand how the App is used and improve it, we measure its use with PostHog:
- usage events: screens viewed, features used, protocols started and completed;
- technical data: device model, operating system and App version, language, approximate country derived from the IP address;
- a random identifier, which does not reveal your name or email address.
These statistics do not include the protocol details described in section 2.1. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in measuring audience and improving the service (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time by writing to contact@eoleapp.com.
2.3 Partner codes
If your employer, airline or another partner gave you an access code, the code is checked to activate your access. EOLE can therefore see how many of a partner's codes have been activated; the partner does not receive any information about your individual use of the App.
2.4 Purchases
Subscriptions and passes are sold by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), which process your payment under their own privacy policies. EOLE never receives your payment details: we only receive the information needed to activate your access.
2.5 Notifications
Your protocol reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. You can turn them off in your phone's settings.
3. Data processed on the Website
3.1 Cookie-free audience measurement
We use PostHog, configured so that it sets no cookies and stores no identifier on your device: each visit is counted independently. We measure pages viewed, clicks on the download buttons, use of the jet lag calculator (departure and arrival cities chosen) and technical data (browser and device type, approximate country, referring page). Legal basis: our legitimate interest in measuring the Website's audience.
3.2 The jet lag calculator
Calculations run directly in your browser. The date and time of your flight are not sent to us.
3.3 Messages you send us
If you write to us, we use your email address and the content of your message to reply and, where relevant, to follow up on your request (for example an enterprise plan). Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering your requests, or pre-contractual steps taken at your request.
3.4 Hosting
Like any host, OVH SAS keeps technical logs (IP address, date, page requested) to keep the Website secure and running.
4. Who receives your data?
- PostHog Inc., our analytics provider, which hosts the data in the European Union;
- OVH SAS (France), the Website host;
- Apple and Google, for App distribution and purchases, as controllers of their own processing;
- public authorities, only where the law requires it.
Your data is never sold or used for advertising.
5. Transfers outside the European Union
PostHog Inc. is a US company. Should data be accessible from the United States, the transfer is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
6. How long do we keep your data?
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Your protocol details | On your device only, until you delete them |
| Usage statistics (Website and App) | 25 months maximum |
| Email exchanges | 3 years after our last exchange |
| Host technical logs | 12 months maximum |
7. Security
We keep the data we collect to a strict minimum and use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect it (encrypted connections, restricted access).
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data, and, under French law, to give instructions about your data after your death. To exercise these rights, write to contact@eoleapp.com. We reply within one month.
As usage statistics are pseudonymous, we may not be able to find the data that relates to you; if so, we will tell you.
If you believe your rights have not been respected, you can lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL): www.cnil.fr, 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France, or with the authority of your country of residence.
9. Children
The App is not intended for children under 15 without the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
10. Cookies
The Website uses no cookies or other trackers that require your consent, which is why no cookie banner is shown. If this changes, we will ask for your consent first.
11. Changes
We may update this policy, for example when we add a feature. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page. If we make a significant change, we will let you know in the App.
